Job summary

Troon's Corporate office in Scottsdale, AZ is seeking an Accounting Lead to supervise a small team of accountants and oversee monthly close for a portfolio of golf clubs or corporate lines. You will ensure GAAP-compliant reporting, coach staff, and partner with operations to align financial results with business goals.

Ideal candidates bring at least 5 years in accounting with 2+ years in a lead role, strong Excel skills, and CPA progress or certification is a plus.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years of progressive accounting experience, including 2+ years in a lead, supervisory, or senior accountant capacity.
• Demonstrated experience reviewing complex reconciliations, financial statements, and close deliverables.
• Proven ability to manage workloads, deadlines, and quality across multiple entities or locations with minimal oversight.

Responsibilities

• Oversee monthly close activities for assigned portfolio, reviewing statements and schedules.
• Provide hands-on review and quality control ensuring GAAP compliance and internal controls.
• Supervise a small team of accountants, including onboarding, guidance, feedback, and coaching.
• Serve as primary accounting liaison to operations, explaining results and aligning reporting with business activity.
• Identify, investigate, and resolve accounting issues and variances, escalating as needed.
• Assist with budgeting and forecasting, including variance analysis and data preparation.
• Participate in finance committee meetings and present financial information.
• Lead onboarding and transitions for newly acquired facilities, ensuring smooth integration.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with Finance, Operations, Legal and other partners on policy adherence.
