Job summary

Federated Insurance invites ambitious accounting students to join a full-time, in-person summer internship. You will work on monthly statements, reconciliations, and quarterly earnings while gaining exposure to tax filings and external audits.

You’ll be mentored by a seasoned team, with housing support and access to Fed’s wellness and mentoring programs. This paid internship offers hands-on experience in a supportive environment.

Qualifications

• Junior or Senior level Accounting major
• Minimum overall GPA of 3.2
• Strong computer knowledge
• Ability to use Microsoft Excel or equivalent spreadsheet software

Responsibilities

• Preparing monthly financial statements
• Completing bank and account reconcilements
• Participating in quarterly financial statement presentations
• Preparing annual statement for insurance entities
• Completing regulatory filings for state agencies
• Participating in quarterly industry earnings calls and meetings
• Assisting with gathering data for external auditors
• Assisting with the preparation of audited financial statements and notes
• At the conclusion of the internship, present internship experience to accounting operations team and HR
