Job summary

Federated Insurance is offering a full-time, in-person summer internship in accounting. You will work on preparing monthly financial statements, reconciling accounts, and supporting quarterly statements with supervision and a mentor.

Staffed as an integral part of the accounting operations team, with exposure to external audits and regulatory filings. Eligible candidates are juniors or seniors majoring in accounting with at least a 3.2 GPA.

Qualifications

• Must be a Junior or Senior Accounting major.
• Minimum overall GPA of 3.2.
• Strong computer knowledge and proficiency with spreadsheet software.

Responsibilities

• Prepare monthly financial statements.
• Complete bank and account reconciliations.
• Participate in quarterly financial statement presentations.
• Prepare annual statements for insurance entities.
• Complete regulatory filings for state agencies; participate in industry earnings calls.
• Assist with gathering data for external auditors and with audited statements.

• Preparing annual statement for insurance entities
• Completing regulatory filings for state agenciesParticipating in quarterly industry earnings calls and meetings
• Assisting with gathering data for external auditors
• Assisting with the preparation of audited financial statements and notes
• At the conclusion of the internship, the intern will prepare a presentation outlining their internship experience to the accounting operations team and Human Resources

• Ability to use Microsoft Excel or equivalent spreadsheet software

Pay for this internship is $24.50 per hour.
