Job summary

CHS Inc. invites motivated accounting interns to join our summer program in Minnesota. You will participate in the month-end close, financial reporting, and related analyses, gaining exposure to CHS leadership within a corporate or business unit accounting team.

The ideal candidate is pursuing a bachelor’s degree in accounting, has GAAP knowledge, and brings prior work experience. Strong Excel and SAP familiarity is a plus, with a commitment to professional growth.

Responsibilities

• Record journal entries in the general ledger
• Perform monthly balance sheet account reconciliations
• Prepare schedules in support of the 10-Q reported externally to the SEC
• Perform ad hoc accounting tasks, analysis, and reporting
• Participate in continuous improvement projects
• Gain exposure to CHS leadership
• Present key findings from your work to other early career associates and leaders in a capstone presentation

Summary

CHS has exciting summer internship opportunities on our Accounting teams. These positions will play an active role in the month-end accounting close and financial reporting process. These internships will provide work experience and mentoring from CHS professionals to prepare for a career in accounting, while being part of a broader early career networking and development cohort. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, strong analytical, problem-solving, organizational, prioritization and research skills. The candidate must be driven, adaptable, detail-oriented, with natural curiosity and a desire to learn. The intern will support a corporate or business unit accounting team.

Additional Qualifications

• Agriculture experience or understanding of Agriculture industry
• Previous internship relating to finance, accounting or other Agriculture related internship
• SAP experience
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel

Actual pay offered will vary based on multiple factors which may include, without limitation, experience, education, training, specialized skills and certifications, minimum wage/salary requirements under local law.
