Minerals Technologies Inc. (MTI) is seeking an Accounting Intern to support the Global Business Services team with a range of accounting tasks, reporting, and data entry.

The role provides hands-on exposure to daily accounting functions and project work while working alongside experienced professionals. Qualified students pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's in Accounting or Finance will gain practical experience in financial reporting, audits support, and continuous improvement initiatives within

Qualifications

• Read, write, speak and understand English.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Ability to work independently while maintaining a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Shadow accounting team members to gain exposure to day-to-day accounting operations and financial processes.
• Assist with research, filing, data entry, and the maintenance of accurate accounting records.
• Support the preparation of accounting reports, including balance sheets, income statements, invoices, and other financial documentation.
• Assist with account reconciliations and review transactions for completeness and accuracy.
• Support accounts payable, accounts receivable, and other accounting functions as assigned.
• Assist with monthly close activities and financial reporting processes.
• Maintain organized electronic and physical accounting files.
• Handle confidential and sensitive information with discretion, professionalism, and integrity.
• Collaborate with team members to compile, analyze, and track financial and operational data.
• Participate in departmental projects and special assignments designed to enhance accounting knowledge and business acumen.
• Support internal and external audit activities as needed.
