Job summary

Smith Seckman Reid, Inc. is seeking an Accounting Intern to join our Accounting team in Nashville. You will gain hands-on experience supporting financial operations at an employee-owned firm, including accounting processes and reporting.

You will work with accounting professionals on accounts payable, month-end activities, project accounting, and data entry while developing practical skills and contributing to team projects and process improvements.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and other MS Office applications.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Assist with various accounts payable.
• Support month-end activities.
• Prepare various financial analyses.
• Support Project Accounting with project setup, closure and billing.
• Review and organize financial records and supporting documentation.
• Assist with data entry and maintaining accurate accounting records.
• Participate in special projects and process improvement initiatives.
• Attend team meetings; capture notes and follow up on actions.
