Allen Lund Company is seeking an energetic Accounting Intern to join our nationwide branch network. You will dive into corporate accounting, freight file settlement, accounts receivable, and carrier setup, reporting to branch leadership, gaining practical experience beyond textbooks.

You'll learn to review Bills of Lading, process carrier invoices, manage invoicing, run receivables reports, and support daily office operations while receiving mentorship in a collaborative, fast-paced logistics

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled undergraduate student or recent graduate in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
• Strong attention to detail with an analytical approach to matching numbers, verifying documents, and catching discrepancies.
• Solid digital literacy and comfort navigating spreadsheets, accounting platforms, and Google Workspace.
• Clear, professional written and verbal communication skills for phone and email interactions with carriers, shippers, and internal teams.
• Organized multi‑tasker who enjoys solving practical problems and collaborating in a supportive team setting.
• No prior freight accounting experience required—we provide full training and mentorship!

Responsibilities

• File Settlement & Billing Operations: review Bills of Lading, verify quantities, resolve discrepancies with freight brokers before settlement.
• Accounts Payable & Carrier Settlements: process carrier invoices, issue payments, balance freight files, forward paperwork for payment.
• Carrier Onboarding & Risk Management: assist with onboarding, ensure COI docs, complete reference checks.
• Accounts Receivable & Collections: input invoicing, run weekly receivables reports, handle AR inquiries.
• Vendor & Carrier Dispute Resolution: collaborate with carriers/brokers to resolve A/P issues and track PODs.
• Core Branch Accounting & Systems: maintain organized filing and update customer platforms, support daily office operations.
