Trusted Fraternal Life in Milwaukee, WI is seeking an Accounting Intern to support the Accounting team. This role offers hands-on experience with corporate accounting, financial reporting, account reconciliations, and general ledger processes within the insurance industry.

You will work closely with accounting professionals, develop practical skills, and gain exposure to real-world financial operations while contributing to month-end close and statutory reporting tasks.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a bachelor's degree in Accounting with a minimum GPA preferred.
• Junior or Senior standing preferred with strong academic performance.
• GPA 3.0 or higher preferred and coursework in accounting and finance.
• Proficiency in Excel and strong written/verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and maintain account reconciliations for balance sheet and income statement accounts.
• Assist with subsidiary GAAP financial statements and schedules.
• Prepare journal entries and documentation for review and approval.
• Support month-end and quarter-end close activities and ledgers.
• Investigate variances and discrepancies in accounts.
• Assist with statutory financial reporting and audit support.
• Organize accounting records and assist with process improvement projects.
