Qualifications

• Pursuing a bachelor's degree in Accounting with a minimum GPA preferred.
• Junior or Senior standing preferred with strong academic performance.
• GPA 3.0 or higher preferred and coursework in accounting and finance.
• Proficiency in Excel and strong written/verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and maintain account reconciliations for balance sheet and income statement accounts.
• Assist with subsidiary GAAP financial statements and schedules.
• Prepare journal entries and documentation for review and approval.
• Support month-end and quarter-end close activities and ledgers.
• Investigate variances and discrepancies in accounts.
• Assist with statutory financial reporting and audit support.
• Organize accounting records and assist with process improvement projects.

Job Id:238 # of Openings:1 Scope of the Role Trusted Fraternal Life is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Accounting Intern to support the Accounting team. This position provides hands-on experience in corporate accounting, financial reporting, account reconciliations, and general ledger processes within the insurance industry. The intern will work closely with accounting professionals while developing practical accounting skills and gaining exposure to real-world financial operations.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and maintain account reconciliations for balance sheet and income statement accounts.
• Assist with the preparation of subsidiary GAAP financial statements and supporting schedules.
• Prepare journal entries and supporting documentation for review and approval.
• Perform general ledger analysis and assist with month-end and quarter-end close activities.
• Research account variances and investigate discrepancies.
• Assist with statutory financial reporting and documentation requests.
• Support internal and external audit activities by gathering schedules and supporting information.
• Assist in maintaining accounting records and ensuring data accuracy.
• Participate in special projects related to process improvement, documentation, and financial analysis.
• Organize and maintain electronic accounting workpapers and supporting documentation.
• Perform other accounting and finance-related duties as assigned.

Qualifications & Skills

• Currently Pursing a bachelors degree in Accounting
• Junior or Senior standing preferred.
• Minimum GPA of 3.0 preferred.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Ability to manage multiple assignments and meet deadlines.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.
