Job summary

CalOptima is seeking an Intern (Accounting) to join our accounting team and gain hands-on experience in accounts payable, general ledger, and financial reporting. This role offers exposure to department projects and collaboration with providers, community partners, and local stakeholders.

You will work under supervision, handle assigned projects, and meet deadlines while applying classroom knowledge in a real-world setting. This internship is office-based with potential flexibility.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent and enrollment in a college/university program.
• Completed at least one college accounting course.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Assist accounting team with accounts payable, general ledger and reporting tasks.
• Support department projects with moderate independence and collaboration.
• Meet deadlines and provide progress updates to supervisor.
• Perform general administrative duties as assigned.
