Job summary

American Modern Insurance Group is offering a 2027 Accounting Internship that blends hands-on experience with technology-driven finance transformation. You’ll work on automating manual processes using Python, analyzing data across systems, and building automated reporting and dashboards.

You will join an accounting-driven team, contribute to real projects, and gain exposure to a global reinsurance organization through Munich Re, with a flexible hybrid work setting from Amelia, OH.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a bachelor's or master's degree in Finance, MIS, Data Analytics, Business Analytics, Computer Science, or a related field
• Rising Junior or Senior at the time of the internship
• Available to work full-time (40 hours per week) for the duration of the summer internship program
• Able to work in a hybrid environment, including approximately 40-50% of the time in Amelia, Ohio office
• Reliable transportation to commute to the office as required
• Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook)
• Eagerness to learn, take initiative, and contribute to meaningful projects

Responsibilities

• Automate accounting and finance processes using Python and related technologies.
• Analyze and reconcile data from financial systems, reports, and general ledger sources.
• Develop and test scripts that validate, transform, and standardize financial data.
• Support automated reporting, financial analytics, and operational dashboards.
• Evaluate AI and automation solutions for finance operations.
• Document requirements, process flows, controls, testing results, and improvement opportunities.
