Job summary

Pacific Life invites Accounting Summer 2027 Interns to join our Newport Beach, CA office for hands-on exposure to accounting within a Fortune 500 financial services company.

You will be trained by accounting professionals, gain experience with policyholder cash inflows and bond investments, and participate in rotations across general accounting, financial reporting, and corporate finance, while networking with leaders and peers.

Responsibilities

• Training by experienced accounting professionals and exposure to cash inflows, bond investments, and actuarial models.
• Hands-on projects contributing to team and company goals across accounting and finance functions.
• Rotational events providing overviews of General Accounting, Financial Reporting, Corporate Finance, etc.
• Networking and social events including executive speaker series and mentoring programs.

We are currently recruiting Accounting Summer 2027 Interns.

As an Accounting Intern, you'll be welcomed into an inclusive and dynamic culture where you'll play a meaningful role in supporting Pacific Life's financial operations. Interns will spend their summer working in the Newport Beach, CA office at a Fortune 500 financial services company and gain hands-on exposure to accounting processes within a complex, highly regulated environment.

Program highlights include:

• Training: You will be trained by experienced accounting professionals and gain a high-level understanding of how cash inflows from our policyholders are accounted for and how the inflows invested in Pacific Life's public and private bonds. For investments, this includes how these are accounted for, monitored, and reported throughout their lifecycle. For the policyholder cash inflows, this includes how the deposits are recorded, reconciled and fed to our downstream actuarial models.
• Mentorship: You will be assigned an Executive and peer mentor who will meet with you todiscuss their knowledge and experience and provide you with guidance on yourinternship and career path.

• Hands On Experience: You will be participating in projects that will give you atrue understanding of the profession. The projects you will work on will contribute toyour teams' and company goals.

• Rotational Events: You will be invited to a series of interactive presentations in whichkey financial and accounting professionals throughout the company will provide an overview of their department andjob duties as well as their experiences as an actuary. This will include exposure toGeneral Accounting, Financial Reporting, Corporate Finance, etc.

• Social Activities: Networking opportunities, Executive speaker series, community serviceevents, and social outings.
