Job summary

Great Southern Wood Preserving, Inc. is seeking an Accounting Intern for the 2027 Summer Internship Program to gain real-world experience in the lumber industry.

The role offers on-the-job training, exposure to financial statements, and potential college course credit where applicable. The program includes projects, data analysis, and opportunities to engage with the operations team to support informed business decisions.

Qualifications

• Sophomore standing pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting with a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or greater.
• Must have experience with PowerPoint, Excel, Word, Microsoft Teams, and Outlook.

Responsibilities

• Gaining corporate experience and developing new skills through on-the-job training and exposure to preparation of financial statements, technical accounting research, and initiatives related to process improvements and automation.
• Assisting with the preparation, recording, and reviewing of journal entries and monthly account reconciliations.
• Assisting with month-end close processes.
• Gathering and performing analysis on large amounts of data to provide insight and valuable information to the operations team to enable informed business decisions.
• Assisting with special projects and ad-hoc requests, as needed.

Great Southern Wood Preserving, Inc., makers of the famous Yellawood pressure-treated pine, is seeking an Accounting Intern for the 2027 Summer Internship Program.
