Job summary

Douglas County is seeking an Accounting/Finance Supervisor to oversee complex financial duties and supervise professional staff. The role involves collaborating with the Assistant Finance Director on the ACFR, working with auditors, and implementing new governmental accounting standards while upholding Finance Department policies.

Candidates should have a bachelor’s degree in accounting, business or finance and at least four years of professional experience, including supervisory

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, business administration, finance, or related field.
• Four (4) years of professional level experience including at least one (1) year of supervisory experience.
• Governmental accounting experience and/or a CPA with audit experience is highly desirable.
• A combination of education and experience may be considered.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and train assigned staff.
• Assist Finance Director in the preparation and publication of the ACFR.
• Collaborate with auditors and support new governmental accounting standards.
• Establish and maintain Finance Department policies and procedures, ensuring accuracy and integrity of the general ledger and Chart of Accounts.
