Job summary

Douglas County Government is seeking an Accounting/Finance Supervisor to lead and supervise professional staff, ensure the integrity of the general ledger and Chart of Accounts, and coordinate ACFR preparation with auditors. The role requires a bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field and at least four years of professional experience including supervisory responsibilities.

Experience with governmental accounting and CPA/audit background are highly desirable.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, business administration, finance, or related field.
• Four years of professional level experience including at least one year of supervisory experience.
• Governmental accounting experience and/or a CPA with audit experience is highly desirable.
• A combination of education and experience may be considered.

Responsibilities

• Supervises and trains assigned personnel.
• Establishes, maintains, and documents accounting procedures.
• Coordinates the annual year-end audit work and the preparation of the ACFR, Single Audit Report, and SEFA with the independent auditors.
• Reviews and posts journal entries.
• Keeps the general ledger and Chart of Accounts accurate and up to date.
• Provides training to the Finance staff and other County staff.
