Job summary

Estrella Mountain Community College (EMCC) is hiring a Business residential faculty member in Accounting to join the Division of Occupational Education. The role focuses on engaging, student-centered instruction in Accounting with opportunities to teach Entrepreneurship, Management, Marketing, and General Business courses.

The candidate will teach at least five courses per semester across online, hybrid, and face-to-face modalities, while maintaining office hours and participating in college

Qualifications

• Master's degree in the teaching field is required.
• OR Master's in any teaching field with 24 upper division and/or graduate semester hours in the teaching field.
• OR Master's in any teaching field with 18 graduate semester hours in the teaching field.
• Bachelor's degree plus 3 years work experience in the field to be taught, or an associates degree of 64 semester hours and 5 years work experience in the field to be taught.
• OR 5 years work experience in the field to be taught.

Responsibilities

• Teaches assigned courses in online, hybrid, face-to-face, and other instructional modalities to promote student learning, access, and success.
• Assesses student learning; evaluates assignments and exams; maintains grades, attendance, and required academic records.
• Participates in student success initiatives, advising, mentoring, and office hours.
• Engages in professional service through program, division, college and district committees; participates in partnerships, outreach, and recruitment.

Education

Master's degree in the teaching field

Master's in any teaching field with 24 upper division and/or graduate semester hours in the teaching field

Master's in any teaching field with 18 graduate semester hours in the teaching field

Bachelor's degree plus 3 years work experience in the field to be taught, or an associates degree of 64 semester hours and 5 years work experience in the field to be taught

5 (five) years work experience in the field to be taught

Master's Degree in Accounting granted by a regionally accredited college or university

Five (5) years of recent teaching experience teaching Accounting at a community college or university

Recent experience in teaching online Business courses

Five (5) years of Accounting or Industry experience in one of the following areas: Accounting or Taxation

One (1) year of full-time, relevant MCCCD experience within the previous two years
