Job summary

Mercor is seeking an Accounting Expert for a remote contract role. The candidate will design grading criteria for accounting deliverables, score AI and human samples, and ensure reproducible, audit-ready workpapers with strong written communication.

Requirements include 5+ years of accounting experience, CPA or equivalent, and deep US GAAP knowledge including month-end close, reconciliations, and financial statements. Prior audit/advisory or senior corporate experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional accounting experience.
• Background in audit, assurance, or advisory at leading global accounting firms, or in senior accounting roles at large public companies.
• CPA or equivalent professional certification strongly preferred.
• Deep fluency in US GAAP application, month-end close, account reconciliations, financial statement preparation, and audit-ready workpapers.
• Exceptionally strong written communication skills.
• Detail-oriented, consistent, and comfortable with peer-reviewed judgment.

Responsibilities

Compensation: $130–$160/hour
