Job description

Responsible for timely and accurate research into unclaimed financial property for our providers, customers, and/or members. Updates unclaimed property spreadsheets monthly by promptly entering data into Excel, including stale-dated checks by legal entity. Researches and provides check information for all checks in unclaimed property. Resolves questions and inquiries from Magellan employees, vendors, and providers related to unclaimed property. Assists management with special projects or tasks as assigned.

  1. Retrieves journal entries credited and debited to the unclaimed property liability accounts monthly.
  2. Adds supporting documentation for transactions posted to the unclaimed property accounts.
  3. Retrieves cash analysis data from FSM for unclaimed property accounts and compares credits and debits to journal entries from Finance, including cash, accounts payable, accounts receivable, claims, and payroll.
  4. Enters checks into unclaimed property spreadsheets by legal entity monthly, updating entries based on transaction details.
  5. Completes RITA tickets to request unclaimed property check information from the Data Warehouse or MHC Informatics.
  6. Enters all check information received from the Data Warehouse or MHC Informatics into the spreadsheets.
  7. Assists the Tax Accountant II - Unclaimed Property with due diligence letters and responses.
Other Job Requirements

Strong communication skills (written and verbal) with a customer service attitude.
Demonstrated ability to deal professionally with vendors and internal customers.
Intermediate or advanced skills in Excel, including complex formulas, data analysis tools, pivot tables, etc.
General knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
Ability to learn new software easily.
