Messer Construction Co. is seeking an Accounting Co-op in Dayton, OH for Spring 2027. This trainee role introduces you to AP, owner billings, cost reporting and reconciliations within a respected employee-owned contractor.

You will work with our accounting team on real projects and develop essential skills in invoice processing and financial documentation. Candidates are pursuing a bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a bachelor’s degreerequired. Accounting,Financeor related field preferred.
• Possess all auditory,speakingandcommunicatingcapabilities.
• Physical requirements: sitting, standing, walking, bending, twisting, climbing, pushing, pulling,lifting upto 75lbs.

Responsibilities

• Review and process AP invoices and monthly subcontractor pay request
• Prepare monthly owner billings
• Reconcile,auditand forecast for internal monthly cost reports
• Resolve various accounting and contract insurance issues
• Maintain andmonitorjob files and document control
• Review and audit reconciliations
• Prepare various accounting reports
• Audit monthly state use tax returns
