Job Summary:

The Accounting Clerk I supports the financial operations of the organization by assisting the accounting and accounts payable department.

Functions:

• Provide clerical support to accountants and other financial staff, including maintaining organized filing systems.
• Keep accurate and up-to-date financial records, including accounts payable invoices and expense reports.
• Regularly reconcile bank statements and financial discrepancies to ensure the integrity of financial data.
• Handle daily transactions, including data entry and processing payments.
• Ensure proper general ledger coding to individual offices.
• Respond to other departments and/or vendor inquiries.
• Accurately produce a variety of financial reports.
• Exercise integrity and confidentiality in financial reporting.
• Strengthen and grow relationships with departments and vendors.
• Other duties, as assigned.

Qualifications:

• 0-1 years of general accounting and payables experience preferred.
• Experience with SAGE accounting software and QuickBooks preferred.
• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
