Job summary

The Part Works, Inc. is seeking a motivated Accounting Clerk to gain hands-on experience across the entire accounting cycle, from AP to AR and month-end close. You will work directly with the Financial Controller in a small, collaborative team that values automation and clear processes.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree or accounting coursework preferred.
• Basic understanding of accounting concepts, such as debits and credits and how payables and receivables work.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and comfort working in multiple software systems.
• Strong attention to detail and organization, and the ability to complete tasks accurately and on time.
• Ability to follow written procedures, protect confidential information, communicate clearly, and ask questions or elevate exceptions when needed.

Responsibilities

• Process accounts payable transactions, including vendor invoices and credits, and prepare vendor payments for review and approval, in accordance with established procedures.
• Support accounts receivable activities, including customer invoicing, recording customer payments, preparing deposits for independent review, customer account maintenance, and routine collection follow‑up.
• Review orders on credit hold and release qualifying orders strictly in accordance with documented criteria; refer exceptions for approval.
• Enter and categorize corporate credit card transactions and maintain supporting documentation.
• Complete assigned month‑end tasks, such as reviewing open purchase orders pending billing and preparing other routine month‑end pre‑work.
• Respond to routine vendor, customer, and internal accounting inquiries and assist with resolving straightforward transaction issues.
• Maintain organized, accurate accounting records and provide general administrative support to the accounting department.
