Job summary

Silgan Containers is seeking an Accounting Clerk for our Kenosha, WI facility to support manufacturing accounting, production reporting, and inventory processes. You will handle data entry in the ERP, perform MO audits, and manage billing and inventory adjustments in a fast-paced environment.

You will collaborate with various departments and provide clerical accounting support, with opportunities for growth within a stable, safety-focused manufacturer.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required; associate degree in Accounting/Business a plus.
• 1+ years in accounting, inventory control, or related experience, preferably in manufacturing.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel.
• Experience with ERP systems such as Oracle, SAP, or JD Edwards.

Responsibilities

• Input production and material usage data into the ERP system using Manufacturing Order paperwork.
• Audit MO paperwork for accuracy and reasonableness; explain variances and reinforce training on documentation procedures.
• Process daily customer billing and customer invoices.
• Enter, audit, and manage inventory adjustments from cycle counts.
• Perform clerical accounting duties and assist with cross-department data gathering and issue resolution.
• Back up accounts payable, accounts receivable, and billing activities in a small accounting department.
• Perform daily administrative tasks (filing, scanning, records maintenance) and complete additional duties as assigned.

Full-Time | Onsite | Kenosha, WI

Silgan Containers is seeking an Accounting Clerk for our manufacturing accounting, production reporting, and inventory processes at our Kenosha, WI facility. This manufacturing accounting role is accountable for production reporting, inventory management, billing, accounts receivable, and clerical accounting tasks in a fastpaced manufacturing environment.

The Accounting Clerk reports to the Plant Controller and works closely with the production, shipping, receiving, and plant accounting teams to ensure accurate production data, inventory records, and financial transactions that back manufacturing operations.

What You'll Do as an Accounting Clerk

• Input production and material usage data into the ERP system using Manufacturing Order paperwork

• Audit MO paperwork for accuracy and reasonableness, explain variances from key production metrics, and reinforce training on correct documentation procedures

• Process daily customer billing and customer invoices

• Enter, audit, and manage inventory adjustments resulting from cycle counts

• Perform clerical accounting duties requiring knowledge of accounting office practices and accounting classifications

• Interact with multiple departments to gather accounting data and assist with issue resolution

• Back up accounts payable, accounts receivable, billing activities, special projects, and other accounting duties in a small manufacturing accounting department

• Perform daily administrative tasks, including filing, scanning, copying, maintaining records, and processing documentation
  Complete additional accounting and administrative duties as assigned

What You Bring

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Associate's degree in Accounting, Business, or a related field is a plus.

• One or more years of accounting, inventory control, or related experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment.

• Strong attention to detail with effective timemanagement skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including advanced Excel skills

• Experience using integrated ERP systems such as Oracle, SAP, or JD Edwards

• Strong written and verbal communication skills

• Selfmotivated work style with the ability to meet deadlines

• Flexibility to work additional hours as needed to help with workload and production deadlines
