Job summary

Mohegan Sun is seeking a payroll and collections specialist to compile and analyze payroll data, verify tips, and prepare reports. You will work with the payroll system to ensure timely processing and accuracy while upholding casino regulatory and internal controls related to collections.

The role requires data entry, experience with payroll systems, and familiarity with casino collections. Team-oriented, service-driven environment offering opportunities for advancement and benefits from day one.

Qualifications

• Experience with data entry and automated payroll systems.
• Prior experience in casino collections or credit collections.
• One-year clerical experience in accounting operations preferred.
• Experience with spreadsheet software.

Responsibilities

• Compile and analyze payroll data to ensure correct salaries, wages, and garnishments.
• Verify and maintain reported tips data.
• Produce payroll reports and enter payroll data.
• Work with payroll system to ensure accurate processing.
• Review labor hours submitted by departments.
• Collect moneys due to Mohegan Sun Pennsylvania for counter checks or cash equivalents.
• Ensure compliance with casino rules and internal controls relating to collections.
• Coordinate with attorneys or external counsel as needed for disposition of patron accounts.
• Maintain collection reports and assist with basic journal entries.
• Promote superior guest service.

Job Duties

Compiles and analyzes payroll data to ensure the correct accountability and payment of salaries, wages, and garnishments. Verifies and maintains reported tips data. Compiles statistical payroll reports and payroll data entries. Works with payroll system to ensure accurate and timely processing. Reviews labor hours submitted by departments. Contacts patrons to collect all moneys due to Mohegan Pennsylvania for counter checks or cash equivalents that have returned, related to collections. Complies with casino regulatory rules and regulations and casino internal and accounting controls relating to collections. At times communicates with in-house attorneys or outside legal counsel regarding disposition of patron accounts. Maintains reports on collection figures. Assists Staff Accountants with various assignments including preparation of basic journal entries and account analysis. Performs other related duties as assigned. Promotes superior guest service.

Minimum Qualifications

Experience with data entry and automated payroll systems. Prior experience in casino collections, casino credit or two years in credit/collections outside of the casino industry preferred. One-year previous clerical experience in accounting operations, preferred. Experience with spreadsheet software and basic computer skills.
