Job summary

Rydell Automotive Group in Waterloo, Iowa is seeking an Accounting Clerk to join our team. This full-time, hourly position focuses on accurate accounting tasks, general ledger work, deposits, statements, and collaboration with the CFO and Office Manager.

The ideal candidate has at least 2 years of accounting or finance experience, QuickBooks proficiency, strong attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced dealership environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of accounting, bookkeeping, or finance experience.
• General ledger accounting and account reconciliation.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Organizational and time-management skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
• Analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency with computers and Microsoft Office.
• QuickBooks experience is a plus.
• Automotive dealership accounting experience is a plus, but not required.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality when working with financial and company information.
• Strong communication skills and a team-oriented attitude.
• Microsoft Office, Excel, Outlook

What You'll Do

• Prepare and post journal entries
• Process daily deposits and customer payments
• Run monthly customer statements
• Process credit card applications
• Post credit card deposits
• Cross-train with Accounts Payable
• Research and resolve A/R discrepancies
• Assist the CFO and Office Manager with accounting and administrative responsibilities
• Perform additional accounting duties as needed
