Job description

Job Overview

This position is responsible for performing regular accounting tasks as well as special projects as assigned. Duties include accounts payable, accounts receivable, billing, reconciliation of accounts, and maintaining journal entries. Also, prepares statements of accounts, reports, and other documents.

Responsibilities

  • Enter journal entries and resolve billing/payment discrepancies
  • Post checks and ACH payments received. Also record returned payments
  • Enter and distribute invoices for approval
  • Create invoices and update customer accounts
  • Investigate and resolve customer underpayments/disputes
  • Analyze customer refund checks
  • Code and enter all vendor invoices and credit card transactions into accounting software
  • Ensure timely disbursement of funds
  • Reconcile all bank accounts and contact proper bank personnel to correct errors
  • Book journal entries and assist in maintaining general ledger accounts and associated work papers related to monthly financial close
  • Execute monthly and quarterly audits
  • Compile information and prepare spreadsheets to assist the controller in financial statement preparation
  • Create various analyses on an ad hoc basis
  • Create and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOP)
  • Utilize programs such as QuickBooks, Rev.io, and Excel to complete tasks
