Job summary

PNC is seeking an Accounting Associate for its Finance organization based in Pittsburgh, PA. You will join the SEC Reporting team, supporting top-tier financial reporting and interacting with senior leadership.

  • Perform tie-outs across earnings releases and filings.
  • Support review of XBRL tagging for filings.
  • Conduct disclosure research on GAAP and SEC requirements.
  • Assist with Census and other regulatory reporting.
  • Contribute to automation and process improvements.
  • Handle ad hoc analyses as needed.

This position operates in an in-office environment, Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM.

In This Role, Responsibilities Include

  • Prepare quarterly and annual consolidated external financial statements (10-K, 10-Q, 8-K, etc.) in accordance with U.S. GAAP and SEC requirements
  • Partner closely with internal business stakeholders to support accurate and timely reporting
  • Assist in the preparation of quarterly earnings release materials
  • Perform tie‑outs to ensure accuracy and consistency across earnings press releases and regulatory filings
  • Support the review of XBRL tagging for 10-K and 10-Q filings
  • Conduct disclosure‑related research on U.S. GAAP and SEC requirements
  • Assist with the completion of Census Bureau surveys and other regulatory reporting
  • Contribute to automation and process improvement initiatives
  • Complete ad hoc analyses and requests as needed

Job Description

  • Supports the organization's accounting activities, including financial record keeping and reporting.
  • Prepares, analyzes, and maintains records of organization's financial activity in accordance with GAAP, organizational standards, and in compliance with Section 404 of the Sarbanes–Oxley Act.
  • Creates and evaluates reports on financial performance for internal and external use. Interacts with all levels of an organization in determining content and summarizing data for management.
  • Completes month‑end, quarter‑end, and year‑end closing activities including the preparation and review of journal entries and appropriate audit work papers, and the reconciliation of accounts for such activities. These activities may relate to bank accounting, loans and investments, deposits, and tax, including preparing the appropriate audit work papers for such activities.
  • Supports and assists junior accounting staff in the development of their professional skills.
