Job summary

The Summit Church in North Carolina seeks an Accounting Associate to join our finance team and focus on accounts payable, ensuring accuracy under US GAAP, and partnering with the Senior Accounting Associate to improve processes.

This role requires a bachelor’s in accounting, 2+ years in finance, strong Excel skills, and clear communication. You will handle Ramp, vendor setup, W‑9 verification, and monthly check printing, while supporting church-wide events.

Responsibilities

• Review and approve credit card transactions in Ramp.
• Assist staff with Ramp-related questions and customer service.
• Set up new vendors and manage vendor database with W-9 verification.
• Print checks at the Brier Creek Office (Mon-Wed).
• Input invoices into Ramp for payment for multiple departments.
• Perform miscellaneous accounting tasks as assigned by ED of Accounting and HR.
• Support church-wide events accounting.

Summary of PositionThe Accounting Associate is an integral part of the accounting and finance team that oversees all accounting and finance matters for the church. The position will primarily be responsible for the accounts payable function within the department. As one church that meets in many locations, there are several times throughout the year that Summit holds church-wide events in an effort to do whatever it takes to reach all people. All staff members are expected to serve at these church-wide events regardless of the positions they hold.Such events include, but are not limited to: Easter services, church-wide prayer meetings, Good Friday service, and Christmas services. Serving expectations will be communicated in advance of each event.
