Job Description: Accounting Associate

Responsibilities:

• Accurately post entries to the general ledger, verify and balance accounts.
• Process accounts payable transactions, including batch payments.
• Manage accounts receivable transactions, including adjustments and collections.
• Support weekly hourly payroll processing.
• Assist with month-end financial closings for the plant.
• Maintain accounting and payroll records in accordance with company policies.
• Provide administrative support, organize files, and handle correspondence.
• Respond to corporate requests and manage cyclical filings, ensuring timely submission.

Minimum Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least 1 year of experience in an office or accounting role, with exposure to general ledger, payroll, or accounts payable.
• Solid understanding of accounting procedures.
• Proficiency in computer systems, especially Microsoft Office, with advanced Excel skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Associate’s degree or coursework in accounting.
• Experience in manufacturing, containerboard, or the corrugated packaging industry.
• Experience with accounting software handling accounts payable and general ledger.
