Job summary

Kids for the Future in Lynchburg, VA, is seeking a staff accountant to support GAAP-based financial reporting and controls. The role is full-time and non-exempt, with a base pay range of $65,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year. You will handle AR/AP, payroll, costing, and year-end CPA audits, contributing to accurate financial statements and internal controls.

Strong Excel and UKG payroll experience is valued. Degree in accounting required; knowledge of GAAP and revenue recognition essential.

Responsibilities

• Assist in preparation of financial statements/reports in accordance with GAAP standards
• Assist with internal controls and financial policies/procedures
• Assist in preparation for year-end review by external CPA firm
• Assist in annual audit of Profit-Sharing/401(k) Plan outside CPA firm
• Assist outside CPA firm with annual federal and state income tax returns as well as quarterly estimates
• Assist in all accounting operations for the company including accounts receivable, accounts payable, payroll, and order costing functions
• Assist with preparation of percentage of completion method annual and monthly financial reports from on-going contracts
• Review and complete weekly payroll processing in UKG Payroll Processing System
• Maintain payroll tax compliance in UKG Payroll Processing System
• Other duties and responsibilities assigned as necessary

Ability to integrate into and be a crucial part of the Accounting team, as well as to work with and communicate effectively with all ACS team members.

Ability to read, analyze, interpret, and explain financial statements and other financial reports

Excellent Excel skills including the ability to take data from the ERP and payroll programs and convert into meaningful and useable reports in Excel

Working knowledge of other Microsoft Office Programs
