A Japanese company is seeking a Japanese-English bilingual Accounting Assistant to support daily accounting operations, primarily focusing on Accounts Payable (AP) functions. This position is ideal for an entry-level accounting professional or someone looking to build a career in accounting. The role includes expense reimbursement processing, invoice management, data entry, and general administrative support. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, and comfortable performing routine accounting tasks while working collaboratively with team members.
Accounting Operations
- Process employee expense reimbursements by reviewing receipts and recording transactions.
- Process vendor invoices and general expense invoices, including data entry, payment processing, and account reconciliation.
- Maintain accurate accounting records using SAP and other accounting systems.
- Assist with month-end closing activities as assigned.
- Support daily accounting operations while ensuring accuracy and compliance with company procedures.
Administrative Support
- Perform general administrative tasks as needed.
- Organize and maintain accounting documents and records.
- Provide support to the accounting team with various routine projects and assignments.
- Assist with additional office and administrative duties as requested.
- Full-time (37.5 hours per week)
- Hybrid schedule (3 days in the office)
- Overtime is generally minimal; occasional overtime may be required during month-end (typically less than 5 hours per month).

Qualifications
- Less than 3 years of accounting experience preferred; entry-level candidates are welcome.
- Candidates without accounting experience will also be considered if they have accounting knowledge equivalent to Japanese Bookkeeping Certification Level 3 (Nissho Boki Level 3).
- Intermediate English reading and writing skills; Japanese will be the primary language used in the workplace.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including VLOOKUP and Pivot Tables.
- Experience with SAP, Emburse, or BILL is a plus.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Team-oriented, cooperative, and willing to learn.
- Available to start immediately or as soon as possible.
