Job summary

Responsibilities

• Assist accounts payable team with reconciliations of Sales & Use Tax and Abandoned Property.
• Assist accounts receivable team with processing of Finance Agreements, Return Mail and Refunds.
• Assist with gathering information requested by auditors.
• Participate in team meetings.

Position Summary

The ideal opportunity to be immersed within the corporate finance department to gain exposure and hands on experience with all areas of operation. Assist with preparation of timely and accurate financial reports/statements in accordance with statutory (SAP) and GAAP guidance. The co-op will assist with preparation of annual statement filings and the monthly book close as well as support the team with various projects, gaining insight into financial reporting. The co-op will provide support to the core responsibilities of the accounts payable and receivable functions.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Prepares monthly journal entries related to financial close.

Research accounts transactions and prepares various monthly reconciliations utilizing subledgers.

Assist Financial Reporting team with annual and quarterly regulatory filings including but not limited to preparing notes, tables and financial statements.

Assist accounts payable team with reconciliations of Sales & Use Tax and Abandoned Property.

Assist accounts receivable team with processing of Finance Agreements, Return Mail and Refunds.

Assist with gathering information requested by auditors.

Participate in team meetings.

Special projects as assigned.

Education, Requirements & Competencies

Must be a current student working towards a degree in accounting.

Coursework and project experience in accounting principles is a must.

Analytical drive, with attention to details.

Strong communication skills (written and verbal); ability to interact effectively with all levels of the organization.

Solid organizational and time-management skills.

Proficient in Microsoft Excel and accounting software is preferred.
