The role is roughly 80% bookkeeping/accounting and 20% operations and administrative support. • Payroll and benefits: Process payroll and administer employee benefits.
  • Reconciliations: Reconcile bank and credit card accounts, maintain account accuracy and documentation in line with IRS and third‑party audit requirements.
  • Month-end close: Complete the monthly close within 3–6 business days.

  • Inventory reconciliation: Help reconcile inventory between systems and physical counts, and investigate and resolve discrepancies.
  • Product Import management: Track and verify import costs including shipping, customs processing, tariff and duty assessments.
  • Sales tax: Manage state sales tax compliance, including customer exemption certificates and state registrations.
  • Income tax: Prepare annual income tax packages for our US and Canadian tax accountants.
  • Process improvement: Identify and implement ways to streamline accounting workflows and reduce manual work.

  • Logistics: Assist with logistics monitoring and prepare export and import documentation.
What you’ll bring
  • 4–8 years of bookkeeping/accounting experience, including accounts receivable, accounts payable, reconciliations, and month‑end close.
  • Experience with cloud-based accounting software (we use Xero) and Microsoft 365 applications.
  • Excellent communication skills in a fast‑moving environment.
  • Working knowledge of US federal and state tax compliance, COGS, and inventory accounting.
  • Experience processing payroll and administering employee benefits.
  • Understanding of GAAP accounting standards.
  • Strong organization and attention to detail, and comfort managing several priorities at once.
