SUMMARY

Under general supervision, the Senior Accounting Analyst is responsible for preparing, analyzing, and delivering complex financial reports in compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), regulatory requirements, and organizational policies. This position supports monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting processes; performs financial analysis and forecasting; assists with audits and regulatory reporting; and provides insights to assist in strategic business decisions. The Senior Accounting Analyst serves as a technical resource on accounting matters and may provide guidance and support to other accounting staff.

JOB DUTIES

• Lead the month-end, quarter-end and year-end close process, ensuing timely and accurate quarterly and annual financial statements
• Perform complex financial and accounting activities, including preparing and reviewing journal entries, reconciliations, and adjustments to maintain accurate financial records.
• Complete timely and accurate reconciliations and maintain supporting schedules.
• Manage fixed asset accounting and special projects, including tracking asset lifecycle events, calculating depreciation, and ensuring compliance with capital asset policies.
• Conduct financial forecasting, variance analysis, and other analytical functions to support strategic decision-making.
• Assist in preparation of financial and statistical reports for management and/or external stakeholders.
• Ensure all financial operations comply with GAAP, as well as applicable federal and state laws and regulations.
• Conduct thorough analysis and prepare supporting documentation for audits and regulatory reporting required by independent auditors, as well as federal and state government agencies.
• Collaborate with internal teams to gather financial data and promote best practices across departments; serve as backup for general ledger functions, as needed during staff absences.
• Leverage financial technologies and tools to enhance performance and continuously improve professional accounting skills.
• Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor's degree in accounting and/or Finance is preferred, plus 3-5 years of experience in accounting or financial management. Experience may be substituted for educational requirements.
• Experience using automated accounting software, Microsoft Dynamics GP preferred.
• Strong analytical and critical thinking skills to evaluate financial data and complex problems.
• Advanced knowledge of computer systems and spreadsheet tools like Excel.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP, and federal and state laws and regulations.
• Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Possess integrity and must maintain privacy and confidentiality of information.
