Job summary

The Florida Department of Elder Affairs is seeking an independent professional accountant to apply accounting techniques to a broad range of fiscal transactions. You will maintain complex financial records and ensure timely payment to Aging Network Providers while reporting to the DOEA office in your service area.

Responsibilities include reviewing invoices, entering data into FLAIR/MFMP, reconciling balances, and supporting audits and projects within the accounting division.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of FLAIR transactions and voucher auditing rules.
• Ability to record and verify information accurately and meet deadlines.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
• Apply critical thinking and analytical skills.
• Knowledge of basic accounting and auditing principles and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Review and audit vendor invoices for accuracy and payment processing.
• Enter expenditure data and encumbrance transactions into FLAIR and MFMP.
• Verify voucher summary reports and prepare vouchers for submission.
• Record financial data in ACMS.
• Maintain organized payment files with supporting documentation.
• Assist in reconciling balances with master file records.
• Provide data to internal and external customers upon request.
• Manage agency accounting files, vouchers, and related materials.
• Conduct travel audits and manage FLAIR transactions in STMS for compliance.
• Assist with PALM project tasks and testing requirements.
• Support projects assigned to the accounting division for timely completion.
• Complete additional tasks as directed.
