Job summary

The Coury Firm is seeking an Accounting Analyst to support the Director of Accounting and Finance with day-to-day bookkeeping across the Firm. You will handle accounts payable/receivable, banking, reconciliations, and financial statement support.

This role offers a pathway to expand into budgeting, forecasting, and broader financial planning within a collaborative, client-focused family office environment.

Qualifications

• Prior bookkeeping or accounting experience, preferably within a professional services, financial services, or family office environment.
• Working knowledge of QuickBooks Online (or similar general ledger software).
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including formulas, pivot tables, and building templates to automate recurring tasks.
• Experience utilizing AI tools to support or automate accounting and bookkeeping processes.
• Demonstrated interest in identifying and implementing process improvements and automation opportunities within the accounting function.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry, reconciliations, and financial reporting.
• Ability to manage multiple recurring deadlines - daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual - across several entities.
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive financial and personal information.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively with the Director of Accounting and Finance and other internal and external stakeholders.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite - Outlook, Word, PowerPoint.

Responsibilities

• Process vendor invoices and payments; maintain QuickBooks docs and resolve billing issues.
• Prepare client invoices across revenue lines (commission, retainer, AUM, OCIO, 401(k)).
• Process client check deposits and prepare quarterly AUM pre-billing reports and variance analysis.
• Monitor daily bank feeds and coding; maintain chart of accounts and clear unspecified P&L postings.
• Prepare monthly reconciliations and consolidate balance sheet, P&L, and cash flow reports.
• Perform entry-level variance analysis and help identify drivers of differences.
• Assist with 1099 preparation and provide information for external tax preparer.
• Review bank activity and support cash transfers and payroll-related payments.
• Prepare employee reimbursements and assist with management reporting and special projects.
• Evaluate automation opportunities to improve accounting processes.
