Job summary

ADM in Decatur, IL, is seeking an Accounting Analyst to join the GBS Finance Services team. The role focuses on monthly US GAAP accounting, internal controls, and financial analysis, with emphasis on inventory reconciliation and process improvements.

The position requires a Bachelor’s degree in accounting and 3+ years of related experience, with proficiency in Microsoft Office; Hyperion HFM and ERP experience are a plus. The role is full-time and exempt.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting required.
  • 3+ years of accounting experience.
  • Strong inventory reconciliation experience.
  • Experience with Hyperion Financial Management (HFM) and ERP systems is a plus.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Knowledge of Internal Controls, GRC, and financial reporting.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor and reconcile warehouse inventory.
  • Complete monthly accounting work per US GAAP and perform analyses.
  • Review and improve SOX controls and process flows.
  • Collaborate with business partners to provide financial insight.
  • Prepare and analyze financial statements and schedules.
  • Perform quarterly analysis and reporting.
  • Work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Support design and implementation of process changes.

Job Description

Accounting Analyst - Decatur, IL GBS Finance Services This is a full-time, exempt level position.

Position Summary

Analysts at ADM have proven ability to think and work independently. They possess the ability to identify problems or opportunities for improvement and regularly propose solutions to problems. Analysts are expected to independently manage projects of increasing complexity and have a strong understanding of accounting systems and processes. They must demonstrate a high level of self-confidence in dealing with management at various levels and various administrative, commercial, and operations areas, as applicable. They should be considered an expert in assigned areas and have demonstrated ability to see projects through to completion. Analysts have no direct supervisory responsibilities.

Responsibilities
  • Monitoring and reconciling of warehouse inventory reconciliations
  • Complete monthly accounting work per US GAAP guidelines and perform relevant analysis
  • Complete annual review/revision of Key Financial Controls (SOX requirements) and process flows and work to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of internal controls
  • Work with relevant business partners to provide insight and analysis into financial results
  • Prepare and analyze financial statements and/or supporting schedules
  • Perform quarterly analysis and reporting
  • Work independently with little supervisor intervention
  • Engage proactively in the design and implementation of process change.
Required Skills
  • Strong inventory reconciliation experience
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including ability to effectively communicate with internal and external customers
  • Advanced knowledge in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Knowledge of Internal Controls
  • Financial Analysis and operations
  • Knowledge of Governance, Risk and Compliance
  • Designing Queries and Reports using Financial Systems
Education Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting
Experience
  • 3+ years of accounting experience
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Experience with Hyperion Financial Management (HFM) and large ERP systems a plus
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards
  • Standard office safety regulations

Base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Hourly and salaried non-exempt employees will also be paid overtime pay when working qualifying overtime hours.

If hired, employees will be in an “at-will position” and the Company reserves the right to modify base pay (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.

The pay range for this position is expected to be between:

$57,700.00 - $105,800.00
