  • A loom video of a cool AI thing you’ve built
What We Do
Truewind is the digital accountant for modern accounting teams. We use AI agents to help startups, growing businesses, and accounting firms close faster, reduce manual work, and deliver clean, investor-ready financials.
Truewind is built for the messy, high-volume parts of accounting—like Point of Sale tie-outs, payroll accruals, donations/revenue schedules, fixed assets & prepaids rollforwards, and field-services revenue recognition—and turns them into reliable workflows without spreadsheet chaos.
We’re a YC company and have raised a $13M Series A co-led by Rho Capital and Thomson Reuters Ventures (with Pathlight Ventures, Fin Capital, and Y Combinator participating), bringing total funding to $17M+.
Who We Are
Truewind is a fast-moving, thoughtful team built around ownership, impact, and solving problems that matter.
We collaborate closely in San Francisco (we have an office in Soma) while also working with teammates in multiple regions globally—what matters most is that we execute and deliver outcomes for customers.
Who We Need
We’re looking for an accountant who wants to build—someone who can take real-world accounting problems, translate them into repeatable workflows, and help customers see measurable improvements in their month-end close.
You Will
  • investigate the customers accounting process to identify pain points,
  • support the AE in the sales process by facilitating the POC,
  • own the long-term relationship with customers after onboarding,
  • partnering with controllers, finance leads, and accounting teams to ensure they’re getting compounding value from Truewind.
If You Like
  • solving messy accounting + data problems,
  • working directly with customers,
  • configuring systems/workflows, and
  • being accountable for outcomes—
this role is for you.
What You’ll Do
Own customer relationships and outcomes
  • Run success plans, lead recurring check-ins, and keep stakeholders aligned on business goals and close improvements.
Turn accounting pain into AI-powered workflows
  • Translate close, reconciliation, and supporting-doc requirements into Truewind processes customers can trust.
Be the accounting-to-product bridge
  • Connect GAAP reality to product capabilities, ensuring workflows are accurate, auditable, and scalable.
Drive adoption and expansion
  • Lead enablement (trainings, playbooks, best practices), surface new use cases, and help customers roll Truewind out more broadly.
Work cross-functionally
  • Deliver front-line feedback to Product/Engineering, help triage issues, and improve handoffs and playbooks.
Become a Truewind product expert
  • Stay current on platform capabilities and teach customers how to get the most out of the “digital accountant” experience.
Become AI-native
  • You’re bringing accountants into the AI era. You need to stay ahead of the curve and be AI-native yourself. You will build new AI solutions for this functions.
Who We’re Looking For
  • 2+ years of hands-on accounting experience (public accounting/audit or industry close/GL/revenue/AP).
  • Prior client-facing work (implementation, advisory, consulting, solutions, etc.)
  • Strong grasp of US GAAP and the end-to-end close process.
  • Ability to translate requirements into systems + workflows (you don’t need to be a career CSM).
  • Comfortable learning new tools and working with messy inputs (bank/CC activity, POS systems, payroll data, supporting docs).
  • High ownership, strong follow-through, and clear written + verbal communication.
Nice to have
  • CPA (active or inactive)
  • Experience at a tech startup
  • Sage Intacct and Quickbooks Online experience
Location & Working Style
San Francisco preferred (depending on role needs and team fit).
We value in-person collaboration and have an SF office in Soma
Life at Truewind
  • Mission-driven work modernizing the financial back office for startups with a mix of intelligent software and service.
  • Benefits listed on our careers page include commuter benefits, unlimited PTO, complimentary meals, and insurance (details vary by role/location).
