Position Summary

The Department of Accounting at Metropolitan State University of Denver invites applications for part‑time affiliate faculty teaching positions. The Department is AACSB‑accredited and part of the College of Business.

Responsibilities

• Teach 3–9 credit hours of Accounting courses.
• Work and interact with diverse groups of students, faculty, and staff.
• Deliver course content to students, preparing lesson plans, grading, and providing timely feedback.
• Provide academic support to students online or in person as needed.
• Uphold university, college, and department policies and comply with student evaluation and peer observation policies.
• Adapt to new modes of instruction and be sensitive to diverse educational needs.

Required Qualifications

• Master’s degree and at least 10 years of work experience in the area of the teaching assignment or classification in one of the four AACSB business faculty categories.

Preferred Qualifications

• Business‑related Master’s degree and a professional certification in the teaching area.

Terms of Employment

Affiliate faculty are part‑time, at‑will employees hired to teach on a per credit hour basis for specific classes, usually on a semester‑by‑semester basis. Faculty are not eligible for benefit coverage under the University’s benefit program. All teaching assignments depend on budget and enrollment. Qualified candidates will be expected to teach in person/on campus upon hire.

Salary

Salary is determined by the number of credit hours assigned. The rate of pay per credit hour assignment can be between $1,264 and $1,482.
