Business Management Company, Inc. (BMC) is hiring an Accounting Manager to lead client advisory relationships for a portfolio of business clients.

This is not a compliance-only role, acting as the strategic point of contact balancing technical tax and accounting with advisory service. You will manage consulting and advisory relationships, review financials and tax returns, mentor staff, and assist onboarding and 90-day reviews, with flexibility for remote, hybrid, or in-office work in Frederick,

Qualifications

• Experience in public accounting with exposure to tax and advisory work.
• Strong technical foundation in corporate and individual tax preparation and review.
• Ability to lead client conversations about financial health and strategy.
• Interest in mentoring junior staff.

Responsibilities

• Manage the consulting and advisory relationships for assigned clients.
• Meet with each client quarterly to review financials, projections, and tax savings opportunities.
• Meet with each client annually to deliver and discuss their tax returns.
• Identify and deliver additional advisory services for select clients.
• Review financial statements and tax returns prepared by Senior Accountants.
• Mentor Senior and Staff Accountants and help identify team-wide training needs.
• Assist the Accounting Services Director with onboarding, 90-day reviews, and quarterly staff reviews.
• Step into client ownership during transitions, onboarding, or growth periods.
