Northrop Grumman in Redondo Beach, CA, seeks an Accountant for the Financial Services Restricted Program Accounting team to support accounts receivable and accounts payable for classified programs. The role interfaces with internal customers and ensures adherence to contract terms and department policies.

The ideal candidate holds a bachelor's degree in finance or accounting and at least 2 years of relevant experience, with proficiency in MS Office (Excel), and SAP experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in finance or accounting required.
• 2+ years of relevant experience in finance, accounting or related field.
• Proficiency in MS Office Suite, especially Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP) and Adobe Acrobat Pro.
• U.S. Citizen with active DoD Secret clearance and ability to obtain Top Secret SCI.

Responsibilities

• Interfacing with internal customers on a daily basis.
• Plan and process check runs for sensitive vendor payments in compliance with PO and invoice terms.
• Prepare, review, and submit classified customer billings per contract terms and policies.
• Reconcile outstanding payables and aged receivables.
• Monitor and report cash for classified government contracts; support treasury needs.
• Prepare and post general journal entries.
• Support multiple internal and external audits.
• Participate in special projects as needed.

The Financial Services Restricted Program Accounting team seeks a motivated individual to serve as an accountant supporting the company’s accounts receivable and accounts payable services for classified programs and collaborating with internal and external stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Interfacing with internal customers on a daily basis.
• Plan and process check runs for sensitive vendor payments within compliance of purchase order and invoice terms and per established department policies and procedures.
• Prepare, review, and submit classified customer billings within compliance of contract terms and conditions and per established department policies and procedures.
• Reconciliation of outstanding payables and aged receivables.
• Monitors and reports incoming\/outgoing cash for classified government contracts, including providing support for banking\/treasury requirements.
• Prepare and post general journal entries.
• Provide support for multiple types of internal and external audits.
• Participate in special projects as needed.

Basic Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree and 2 years of relevant experience in finance, accounting or related field.
• Professional experience in balance sheet review/audit; billings; accounts receivable; accounts payable; cash reporting; contract administration; business management.
• Proficiency in MS Office Suite, especially high‑level Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, conditional formatting, etc.) and Adobe Professional.
• Must be a US Citizen with an active U.S. Government DoD Secret security clearance with SCI and the ability to obtain a Top Secret SCI.

Preferred Qualifications

• Active Top Secret Clearance SCI.
• Experience with SAP (ECC and/or S/4).
• Professional experience in the aerospace & defense industry (specifically government contracting) and within a financial services team.

Primary Level Salary Range: $69,000.00 - $103,400.00
