Job summary

Northrop Grumman Corp. in Redondo Beach, CA, is seeking an Accountant to support the Financial Services Restricted Program Accounting team. The role focuses on Accounts Receivable & Accounts Payable for classified programs and collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.

Qualified candidates must have active DoD Secret clearance with SCI and the ability to obtain Top Secret SCI. The position is on-site in Redondo Beach with strong Excel and SAP experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting or related field with 2+ years of relevant experience.
• Experience in Balance Sheet review/audit, Billing, Accounts Receivable/Payable, Cash reporting, Contract administration, and Business management.
• Proficiency with MS Office, especially Excel (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP, conditional formatting) and Adobe Acrobat.

Responsibilities

• Interfacing with internal customers daily.
• Plan and process check runs for sensitive vendor payments.
• Prepare, review, and submit classified customer billings.
• Reconcile outstanding payables and aged receivables.
• Monitor and report cash for classified government contracts; support banking/treasury needs.
• Prepare and post general journal entries.

The Financial Services Restricted Program Accounting team is looking for a motivated individual to join our team as an Accountant. This individual will serve as an integral team member in support of the Company's Accounts Receivable & Accounts Payable services for classified programs and will interact and collaborate with various internal and external stakeholders.

This position will be filled in Redondo Beach, CA. Working remotely is NOT an option.

All candidates MUST have active Secret SCI level clearance to support classified programs and be able to obtain a Top Secret SCI.

Roles and Responsibilities

• Interfacing with internal customers on a daily basis.
• Plan and process check runs for sensitive vendor payments within compliance of purchase order and invoice terms and per established department policies and procedures.
• Prepare, review, and submit classified customer billings within compliance of contract terms and conditions and per established department policies and procedures.
• Reconciliation of outstanding payables and of aged receivables.
• Monitors and reports incoming/outgoing cash for classified government contracts, includes providing support for banking/treasury requirements.
• Prepare &post general journal entries.
• Provide support for multiple types of internal & external audits.
• Participate in special projects as needed.

Basic Qualifications

• Candidate will need to demonstrate exceptional interpersonal skills during the interview process and provide examples of how they have driven continued success by finding and communicating opportunities for efficiencies and demonstrated problem solving skills in their work experience.
• Bachelor’s degree and 2 years of relevant experience in finance, accounting or related field.
• Professional experience in: Balance Sheet review/audit; Billings; Accounts Receivable; Accounts Payable; Cash Reporting; Contract Administration; Business Management.
• Proficiency in MS Office Suite - specifically high-level Excel skills (including the ability to insert pivot tables, Vlookup, and conditional formatting, etc.); also with Adobe Professional.
• Must be a U.S. Citizen with an active U.S. Government DoD Secret security clearance with SCI, and have the ability to obtain a Top Secret SCI.

Preferred Qualifications

• Active Top Secret Clearance SCI.
• Experience with: SAP (ECC and/or S4).
• Professional experience in the Aerospace & Defense industry (specifically government contracting), and within a Financial Services team.

Primary Level Salary Range: $69,000.00 - $103,400.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
