Job summary

Elior North America is seeking a detail-oriented Revenue Accountant to support GAAP/ASC 606 revenue recognition, reconciliations, and contract analysis. The role collaborates with Finance and Operations in a fast-paced environment.

The position is based at our Houston office, with Mon–Thu in office and remote on Fridays, offering opportunities to improve revenue processes and ERP systems.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred; equivalent experience considered.
• 2+ years of accounting experience, with emphasis on cash applications, reconciliations, or accounts receivable.
• Strong understanding of accounting principles (GAAP/IFRS) and internal control practices.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and experience with ERP/accounting systems (SAP, Oracle, or similar).
• High attention to detail, accuracy, and ability to work with large volumes of transactions.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to resolve discrepancies independently.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with Finance and Operations teams.
• Adaptability to thrive in a fast-paced, evolving environment.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and maintain revenue recognition schedules in accordance with ASC 606 and company policies.
• Review customer contracts, amendments, and billing arrangements to ensure proper accounting treatment and revenue timing.
• Analyze revenue transactions and investigate discrepancies or variances.
• Prepare journal entries, accruals, and month-end close activities related to revenue accounts.
• Perform monthly balance sheet reconciliations and support revenue-related reporting.
• Partner with Billing, Operations, FP&A, and other cross-functional teams to ensure accurate invoice and revenue reporting.
• Assist with deferred revenue accounting, contract assets, and unbilled receivables analysis.
• Support internal and external audits by providing documentation and responding to inquiries related to revenue accounting.
• Identify opportunities for process improvements, automation, and stronger internal controls within revenue accounting processes.
• Assist with implementation or enhancement of ERP/accounting systems and reporting tools as needed.
• Maintain compliance with company policies, accounting standards, and regulatory requirements.
• Other duties as assigned.

The Role at a glance:

Compensation Range

$29 to $32 per hour, based on experience.
