Southland Industries, Inc. is seeking an Accountant to manage core financial recordkeeping and ensure GAAP compliance. You will process transactions, reconcile accounts, and resolve discrepancies while supporting compliance with state and federal regulations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance or equivalent experience preferred
• 3-5 years of accounting experience preferred
• Basic accounting knowledge
• Strong organization skills with high level of attention to detail
• Effective written and verbal communication skills
• Proven ability to meet tight deadlines and work under pressure
• Able to analyze and resolve basic issues
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise discretion
• Computer proficiency with MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint
• Able to remain flexible in a rapidly changing environment

Responsibilities

• Process financial transactions accurately and timely (AP/AR or payroll)
• Conduct regular account reconciliation for assigned area
• Research and resolve straightforward accounting discrepancies and irregularities
• Ensure compliance with state and federal regulations and GAAP
• Respond to internal and external inquiries and provide instruction as needed
• Cross-train in other areas to broaden accounting knowledge and systems
