Job summary

NOVA Home Loans is seeking a skilled Accountant to join our Tucson corporate office. The role covers bank reconciliations, GL maintenance, and financial close support in a fully on-site setting.

Ideal candidates have a bachelor’s in accounting or business, 2+ years of experience, and familiarity with ERP platforms like Oracle, SAP, NetSuite or MS Dynamics. Mortgage industry experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or business administration is required.
• CPA or progress toward certification preferred.
• A minimum of two years of accounting experience.
• Experience within the mortgage industry is preferred.
• Experience with ERP systems such as Loan Vision, MS Dynamics365 BC, Sage Intacct, NetSuite, Oracle, SAP or similar is strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Reconcile bank accounts daily and report variances to the manager.
• Reconcile credit line asset and liability accounts monthly.
• Perform General Ledger reconciliations (payroll, prepaids, accruals, impounds, trust, fixed assets).
• Review and post daily transactions to the GL and sub-ledgers.
• Review Accounts Payable entries and GL postings for accuracy.

Overview

The Accountant performs a variety of professional accounting duties, including the examination, analysis, reconciliation, and maintenance of financial records. This role ensures accuracy, compliance with applicable regulations, and timely reporting to support effective financial decision‑making. The Accountant may also perform related work as assigned. This is a fully on‑site position, based at our Corporate office in Tucson, AZ.

• Experience with enterprise accounting software or ERP systems such as Loan Vision, Microsoft Dynamics365 Business Central, Sage Intacct, NetSuite, Oracle, SAP, or similar platforms is strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Reconcile bank accounts daily and promptly report variances to the manager.
• Reconcile credit line asset and liability accounts monthly, ensuring discrepancies are identified and communicated.
• Perform a variety of General Ledger reconciliations, including payroll, prepaids, accruals, impounds, trust, and fixed assets.
• Review and post daily transactions to the General Ledger and applicable sub‑ledgers.
• Review Accounts Payable entries and GL postings for accuracy and completeness.
• Support the month‑end and year‑end financial close processes.
• Conduct financial and accounting analyses with a focus on balance sheet accounts and profit and loss variances.
• Prepare adhoc reports and assist with special projects as requested.
• Assist the Controller and Senior Accountant with internal and external audits and examinations.
• Ensure compliance with internal accounting policies and applicable regulations.
• Perform accounting tasks related to subsidiaries, intercompany activity, property taxes, sales and use tax, and other assignments.
• Identify and recommend process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy of accounting operations.
• Assist with system implementations, upgrades, and testing related to accounting and reporting.
• Research, resolve, and clearly communicate complex accounting issues.
• Provide accounting guidance and support to other departments regarding financial transactions and policies.

Skills and Experience

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (intermediate to advanced) and other Microsoft Office applications.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
• Experience working with accounting software systems.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to collaborate effectively across the organization.
• Solid understanding of general ledger accounting principles and account reconciliation.
• High attention to detail with strong organizational skills.
