Job summary

STADCO Precision is seeking an Accountant to manage the full accounting function in a manufacturing environment. You will own the general ledger, AP/AR, monthly close, reconciliations, and coordinate payroll with external partners.

You will work with leadership and outside advisors, ensuring GAAP compliance, strong controls, and timely financial reporting. Strong technical skills and detail orientation are essential.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Own the general ledger and ensure accurate recording and categorization of transactions.
• Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable, invoicing, collections, and vendor payments.
• Lead monthly and annual close, prepare balance sheet and P&L, and assist budgets and forecasts.
• Oversee outsourced payroll and coordinate with external accounting firm for reporting and tax filings.
• Maintain strong internal controls and documentation to ensure compliance.

Accountant (Manufacturing)

Location: Fairborn, OH | Type: Full-time | Reports to: President & CEO

About the Role

STADCO Precision is looking for an Accountant to take ownership of our accounting function end to end. You will manage the general ledger, AP, AR, monthly close, and reconciliations, and coordinate payroll and tax work with our outside partners. This is a high-trust, high-visibility role. We're looking for someone with sound technical skills, strong attention to detail, and communication skills to work with leadership, vendors, customers, and outside advisors.

What You'll Do

Core accounting

• Own the general ledger and ensure all transactions are accurately recorded and categorized
• Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable, including preparing and reviewing invoices, collections follow-up, and vendor payments
• Manage income and expense accounts
• Perform bank, AP, and AR reconciliations and resolve discrepancies promptly

Close and reporting

• Lead the monthly and annual close, delivering timely and accurate financial statements
• Prepare and maintain the balance sheet and profit and loss statement
• Prepare budgets and forecasts and provide analysis to support management decisions

Payroll and external partners

• Oversee outsourced payroll: review each run, initiate changes, and keep records accurate
• Work with our outside accounting firm on reporting and tax filings, and provide the support they need

Compliance and controls

• Ensure compliance with GAAP, company financial policies, and applicable regulations
• Maintain strong internal controls and well-organized documentation

Requirements

Required

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
• Professional experience as an Accountant, with hands-on general ledger experience
• Strong working knowledge of GAAP and accounting procedures
• Proficiency in MS Excel
• Experience with payroll processing in a payroll system (we use Paycor)
• Strong attention to detail and analytical skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Preferred

• Experience in a manufacturing or job-shop environment
• Familiarity with manufacturing ERP systems such as JobBoss2 or E2
