This Accountant IV position is in the Disbursement Management Unit of the Bureau of Finance and Accounting, under the Division of Administrative Services. Responsible for finance and accounting work for the Resilient Florida Grant Program. This includes working with Agency’s financial and accounting records applying Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP). Audits and processes accounts payable and/or receivable and related paperwork in compliance with state and Agency policies and procedures and performs related research to resolve discrepancies as required. Codes and inputs financial data using specialized accounting software and databases. Maintains Program financial files, spreadsheets, and logs. Audits financial transactions ensuring accuracy and compliance. Performs routine accounting reconciliations and monitors accounts. Compiles information and prepares standard financial reports. Provides assistance and responds to routine accounting/financial questions
At least four years of verifiable related experience in accounting or governmental accounting. Post-secondary degrees may be used as an alternative for the required years of experience on a year-for-year basis. A credential evaluation report from an approved agency must be submitted along with all foreign degrees.
This position is designated as a Position of Special Trust in accordance with DEP Directive 422, Positions of Special Trust or Responsibility. Successful completion of background screening will be required for this position.
