Senior Accountant, Capital Accounting

Location: Alpharetta, GA (Hybrid: Tuesday & Wednesday)
Compensation: USD 91.00 per hour (Target 2%: USD 89.18)
Contract Length: 5 months (Full-Time Equivalent for the right candidate)
Responsibilities
- Perform accounting for the company’s capital expenditures, primarily capitalized software projects, ensuring accurate financial records and GAAP compliance.
- Manage the lifecycle of capitalized assets, including capitalization, depreciation, retirement, and disposal.
- Prepare and review financial reports, conduct account analysis, and reconcile capital accounts to the general ledger.
- Collaborate with internal and external auditors, project managers, and cross-functional teams to maintain financial integrity.
- Support month‑end close activities related to capital accounts.
- Research, analyze, and resolve accounting issues; report findings and escalate when necessary.
- Ensure compliance with GAAP and relevant federal/state regulations; assist with internal and external audits of capital expenditures.
- Coordinate financial tracking, recording, and reporting for all capital projects with project managers.
- Identify and implement process improvements to streamline financial operations and strengthen internal controls.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting
- Minimum 5 years of accounting experience, including at least 2 years in a senior accounting role
- Knowledge of internally developed software accounting rules
- Experience working in a fast-paced accounting department of a publicly traded corporation
- Skilled at developing detailed documentation and communicating financial information and results
- Ability to manage multiple work streams and competing deadlines
- Capability to work independently while collaborating with the team toward overarching goals
- Strong problem‑solving and research skills
- Effective communication skills for interacting via email and meetings with business stakeholders
- Ability to make quick decisions and know when to elevate matters to management
- Strong understanding of financial accounting principles (GAAP) and accounting guidance
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Preferred: Experience with Oracle Financial software, CPA certification
