Job summary

Octave Federal is seeking an Accountant in Huntsville, AL to support daily accounting operations and ensure accurate financial reporting. You will assist AR, close activities, and sales order processing while applying accounting principles to provide analytical insights for decision-makers.

The ideal candidate has a bachelor's degree in accounting or finance and 2–3 years of related experience, with strong Excel skills and a proactive, independent work style in a government contracting context.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance.
• 2-3 years of related work experience.
• Solid understanding of accounting principles and government contracting Familiarity.

Responsibilities

• Issue invoices and perform collections follow-up.
• Support with entering sales orders and purchase requisitions.
• Prepare journal entries and account reconciliations.
• Support month-end close tasks.
• Analyze and maintain financial and business transactions.
• Apply accounting principles to provide analytical, evaluative, and advisory insights.
