Job summary

Milwaukee Tool is seeking an Accountant II to support the Global Logistics accounting team. You will assist with month-end close, journal entries, invoicing, coding, and reconciliations while leading on freight costs accounting and process controls.

You will work with cross-functional groups to improve processes, support internal and external auditors, and develop meaningful financial reports. Strong ERP, Excel, and Oracle Fusion experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field required.
• 2+ years of corporate accounting experience required.
• Proficiency with large scale ERP required.

Responsibilities

• Assist with month-end close procedures and tasks including journal entries, reviewing invoices, coding, and reconciliations.
• Provide leadership and guidance for all accounting aspects of freight costs.
• Maintain accounting processes and controls within Controllership.
• Support auditors with schedules and accounting policy discussions.
• Work in cross-functional groups to improve business processes.
• Identify and eliminate non-value-added activities and streamline processes.
• Collect, analyze, and manage quantitative data; create meaningful reports.
• Support the Global Logistics Accounting Manager on key projects.

Your Role on Our Team

As an Accountant II, you will support the Global Logistics accounting team at Milwaukee Tool.

What You’ll Do

• Assist with several month-end close procedures and tasks including preparing journal entries, reviewing invoices and coding, and performing account reconciliations.
• Provide leadership, support, and guidance for all accounting aspects of freight costs.
• Maintain appropriate Accounting and Controllership department process compliance and controls.
• Support internal and external auditors through the preparation of schedules and discussion of accounting policies and business practices.
• Work in cross-functional groups to create more efficient and accurate business processes.
• Demonstrate a commitment to the process of continuous improvement.
• Identify and eliminate non-value-added activities and streamline processes.
• Ability to collect, analyze, and manage quantitative data and create meaningful reports.
• Demonstrate agility by adapting to changing needs of the finance and operational departments, able to create meaningful ad hoc “what if” financial analysis.
• Support the Global Logistics Accounting Manager on key projects.

The Tools You’ll Need to Have

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field.
• 2+ years of corporate accounting experience required.
• Proficiency with large scale ERP required.
• Proficiency with Excel (advanced) and PowerPoint required.

The Other Tools We’d Like to See

• Experience in Supply Chain preferred.
• Experience with Oracle Fusion preferred.
• Public accounting experience or CPA is preferred.
• Ability to work well in a highly collaborative, fast-paced environment.
