Job summary

Milwaukee Tool is seeking an Accountant II to support the Global Logistics accounting team. You will help with month-end close, journal entries, reconciliations, and freight-cost accounting in a fast-paced environment.

The role requires a bachelor’s degree in accounting and 2+ years of corporate accounting experience, with advanced ERP and MS Office skills. CPA is preferred and collaboration across functions is essential.

Responsibilities

• Assist with month-end close procedures, journal entries, review invoices, coding, and reconciliations.
• Provide leadership and guidance for all accounting aspects of freight costs.
• Maintain internal controls and compliance within the accounting/controllership function.
• Support auditors with schedules and policy discussions.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve processes and reporting.
• Perform ad hoc quantitative analyses and meaningful reporting.
• Assist Global Logistics Accounting Manager on key projects.

Your Role on Our Team

As an Accountant II, you will support the Global Logistics accounting team at Milwaukee Tool.

What You’ll Do:

• Assist with several month-end close procedures and tasks including preparing journal entries, reviewing invoices and coding, and performing account reconciliations.
• Provide leadership, support, and guidance for all accounting aspects of freight costs.
• Maintain appropriate Accounting and Controllership department process compliance and controls.
• Support internal and external auditors through the preparation of schedules and discussion of accounting policies and business practices.
• Work in cross-functional groups to create more efficient and accurate business processes.
• Demonstrate a commitment to the process of continuous improvement. Identify and eliminate non-value-added activities and streamline processes.
• Ability to collect, analyze, and manage quantitative data and create meaningful reports.
• Demonstrate agility by adapting to changing needs of the finance and operational departments, able to create meaningful ad hoc “what if” financial analysis.
• Support the Global Logistics Accounting Manager on key projects.

The Tools You’ll Need to Have:

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field.
• 2+ years of corporate accounting experience required.
• Proficiency with large scale ERP required.
• Proficiency with Excel (advanced) and PowerPoint required.

The Other Tools We’d Like to See:

• Experience in Supply Chain preferred.
• Experience with Oracle Fusion preferred.
• Public accounting experience or CPA is preferred.
• Ability to work well in a highly collaborative, fast-paced environment.
